Body
of Missing Woman Found Updated: Aug 11, 2007 08:09 AM CDT
The body of a Bryan County woman, reported missing on Monday, was
found Friday afternoon. KTEN's Kristi Branam has the details.
50 Year-old Cynthia Phillips was last heard from Sunday night around nine o'clock. When a family member arrived at Phillips' home on Monday morning, she was gone. The family contacted Pathfinder Search and Rescue, out of Moore, Oklahoma, to help search for Phillips. The search and rescue group uses dogs to help track and locate the scent of humans. Just hours after the search began Friday, the dogs found the body of Cynthia Phillips, towards the back of Phillips' property. Phillips suffered from bi-polar disorder, and the Under sheriff with the Bryan County Sheriff's office says it's possible Phillips just wandered away from her house. But, earlier today, Phillips' family members thought foul play may have been a factor in Phillips' disappearance. Natalie Cipriano, Phillips' daughter said, "I definitely do, I talk to my mom on a daily basis and I know she wouldn't just leave. And, if she had planned on leaving, she wouldn't leave. By now she, she would have called." Cynthia Phillips family says now they are just going to wait for the autopsy results. At this point, the Sheriff's office is still going to subpoena Phillips' phone records, but they do not believe there was any foul play. They say it appears Phillips died from natural causes.
