Days Inn on I-35 in Moore Pathfinder Search and Rescue was incorporated in Moore, Oklahoma in June of 1997. The team started out with 4 original members Kay Dawson, Carole Berryhill, Debra Potter, and Steve Potter. Since then the team has grown, and evolved through the years.Our team provides Canine Search and Rescue teams and support personnel to assist in locating missing children, lost adults, Alzheimer's walk a ways, wanderers, hikers, hunters, and cadaver recovery.Our Canine Search and Rescue services are always provided at no cost to the requesting organization or family. Our team does not receive any funding from local, state, or federal governments. Our members supply their own equipment and provide all cost of training, and working a search dog. Funding of the team is through donations from individuals, grants, foundations, businesses, corporations, and fundraising events. Our primary Search and Rescue response area is for the following Oklahoma counties; Canadian, Cleveland, Oklahoma, McClain, Lincoln, Logan, and Pottawatomie, and we respond statewide as needed. Team members have responded to a variety of Search and Rescue missions in the last ten years; tornado response, wilderness searches, aircraft crashes, human remains, forensic remains, missing children, missing hunters, and Alzheimer patients. It is Pathfinder’s philosophy that we do not try and take over a search; we are here to assist you the call out agency. What does this mean, it means we will search where you ask us. We may suggest ways to deploy the search dogs and where to search, but the final call is yours, the call out agency. We are here to build a relationship that benefits you the call out agency and missing persons response to the State of Oklahoma. We can respond to a search with team uniforms or without, depending on the callout agencies wishes.
