Search and Rescue canine standards are demanding on the search dog and handler.  For a Pathfinder search dog and handler team to be mission ready it takes months of work. The team has to pass Runaway, Obedience, Urban, Disaster, and Wilderness certification.  Then they start specialty training in cadaver and scent discrimination.

NOTE: Dogs must complete an evaluation to start training.  All dogs must pass the Canine Good Citizen test through the American Kennel Club and team evaluation to be allowed at demonstrations.  Canine teams must be certified to Search and Rescue Canine standards to participate on searches.

If you have any questions about our training or more information on our team, our training standards are available on request to any official agency.  Please send an e-mail to Training Questions or call 405 794-7978.
